argyleredhead:
I make a motion to change the ship name “Razaya” to the ship name “the good ship hope”!
or just the “good ship hope”.
Reasons
1. They’re good people/characters!
2. Aya’s a ship! and it’s also a pun! because they’re a “ship”!
3. It’s common fan speculation that Razer will…
metaorigin:
We cant name the ship “good ship hope” because the hope theories are just that theories. If the series proves them wrong what happens then? A ship name change? Besides that’s too long to track. Tags need to be short and preferably written as a singular word. Besides I dont like the fact that we’re gonna label Aya as a ship still. She’s a growing person now. To label her as the ship defeats her whole character arc and development. She maybe inorganic but she has feelings like any other person. Granted she still has a long ways to go to be able to understand and experience all emotions through the spectrum but she is experiencing bits of it.
Besides what’s so bad about Razaya?
Ship names when not an original word like Traught and Chalant in Young Justice’s ships for Artemis/Robin and Robin/Zatanna tend to be the combined name of the characters.
Why?
Because we hope for them to get together.
It’s as simple as that.
Now if we can figure out an original word that won’t end up being abused by other fandoms/people with no fandoms I would be happy for a ship name change.
Until then.
I’ll use Razaya.
‘Kay, first off, sorry for the weird reblog, tumblr is acting weird on me. =S
Unfortunately, as my little fangirl heart acknowledges, you’re right. The theories that Razer will become a Blue Lantern are only that. THEORIES. Frankly, I see it totally being plausible now that Razer could a blue lantern or a star sapphire, which is kinda funny and a little groundbreaking a a slightly backwards way, because the story of the evil, lost, wayward soul becoming good and whole again through the power of love is a bit overdone and usually applied to females.
BUT, I digress. I see nothing wrong with having a three word tag. I have whole sentences as tags (though for humor in my own blog, and not intended for tracking purposes), and I track as many variates of “Detective Ellen Yin” as I can.
And I’m not trying to insult or subvert Aya’s character devolpoment or story arc, I created the name “good ship hope” as a pun only, an attempt at humor.
And this is yet again, another personal opinion, but when I combine two characters names, I’m not doing it because I hope they get together, I’m doing it to conform to the norm and archiving, so people can track it or look it up.
What I would REALLY love is to be able to use the tag Razer/Aya, because that’s how I usually write my pairings, but Tumblr doesn’t allow tags with a slash in them to be a valid tag.
And finally, I just don’t adore the name Razaya. Sorry.
It all boils down to personal preference and community agreement.
Though the whole thing has made me curious, how do you usually tag your pairings? do you always use combined names?
